I've had a small Visions saucepan for over 25 years. It was great, unfortunately, a few weeks ago, someone forgot to turn off the heat when the pan was on the stove. Consequently, the pan was totally scorched, and the only way to remove the burnt residue was to use a pumice stone. Unfortunately, this left some scratches in the glass. After some research, I discovered that even minute scratches on the cookware can greatly increase the risk of a possible shattering of the glass. Needless to say, that alarmed me, and I was not willing to take that risk (A Google search can bring up details about this).

With that in mind, I decided to purchase this set. Surprisingly, it was not as easy to find as I thought it would be, and it was much more expensive, too.

As far as I can determine, the only difference between the new cookware and the old cookware is the thickness of the glass. The old cookware was much thicker. With that in mind, however, there does not appear to be any discernible difference in cooking. The instructions are very explicit in advising against using high heat when cooking. Naturally, we follow those instructions. I hope this review helps.

This is a great set. I got into cooking with glass and ceramic since I discovered all the chemicals and toxic metals that can be found in more conventional cookware. I've been cooking with glass for about three years now.

That being said.... It took some getting used to at first, I burnt rice and various other items that I never had problems with before. You really need to watch what you're doing until you get the hang of it. Use oil when possible and stir a lot! Now I've pretty much figured out all the nuances, and I love cooking in glass!

Also...be very careful washing these! I quit washing the handles because the soap gets slippery and one flew out of my hand and shattered on the floor...

This was purchased for a friend after her physicians suggested cooking in glass during her cancer treatment (chemo and radiation treatments can can cause foods cooked in metal cookware to taste metallic). She says this cookware is GREAT. She uses it on an electric (coil) range and has had NO PROBLEMS.

Unfortunately these cookware were not what I expected. After a couple of months of using it,one of the top cracked while it was in use. Also, after 1 or 2 months after the first incident the pot cracked too. Finally, yesterday after I heated up milk and left the pot on the stove cooling down, I was washing the small pot and it broke in half. I almost cut one of my fingers. I'm very
disappointed with these cookware.These cookware seen like are not fire resistances or not made for cooking. Unfortunately, I bought them because i bougth 10 years ago other one similar, same brand(the one in the picture attach) and still work for me perfectly. Not what I expected, total disapoint with this one,
